Prescription/Refills

We now offer online prescription refill/prescription diet requests for your convenience.

Your pet must be a current patient in order to receive prescription refills, i.e., he/she must have been examined by Dr. Cruz within the past 12 months. The Texas administrative code regarding prescribing and dispensing medications for veterinarians can be found in section 573.41 of the Rules of Professional Conduct at www.tbvme.state.tx.us.

Prescription refill requests will be reviewed at 12 pm and 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and by 12 pm Wednesday and Saturday. Prescription requests received by 12pm will be filled by 5pm that day. Prescriptions received by 5pm will be filled by 12 pm the following business day.

If after reviewing your pet’s medical record, we find that we cannot refill the prescription as requested, we will contact you via email or phone.

For prescription diets, we must have either initially prescribed this diet to your pet, or have records on file showing that it has been prescribed/recommended by a previous vet. All Hills Prescription Diets, if not currently in stock, are delivered every Thursday afternoon, and all requests for diet order must be made by 5pm Tuesday of that week.

For Royal Canin or Purina prescription diets, please allow 2 – 3 business days for delivery, if not currently in stock.
