Dr. Norma Cruz is a graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a native Texan, and spent her childhood and high school years
in the south Texas town of Weslaco. Dr. Cruz attended Texas A&M for her undergraduate studies, earning a degree in Biomedical Science in 1997. She attended veterinary school at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine immediately thereafter, and graduated with honors in 2001.
After graduation, Dr. Cruz accepted an associate position at Ashford Veterinary Hospital, a busy, multi-doctor small animal practice in Houston, Texas. She remained there until 2005, when she left to pursue practice ownership.
Dr. Cruz opened the doors to the Pet Medical Center of Katy on March 7th 2005, and has been practicing as the owner and sole veterinarian since its inception.
Dr. Cruz’s passion for animals has been constant throughout her life, having made the decision to pursue veterinary medicine at the tender age of four. She has five pets of her own: Nadine, Kermit, Oliver, Huckleberry, and Douglas.
When not practicing veterinary medicine or tending to her own furry children, Dr. Cruz enjoys working out, dancing, and reading.
“My number one priority is patient care. I try to treat each pet the way I would want my own furry one cared for, and that has been the cornerstone of my practice. I strive to offer the highest level of care, whether it is using
my knowledge and experience, or that of my esteemed colleagues in their specialties. The patient’s well being and comfort are what matter at the end of the day.”
