He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association . His special interests include ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery and ultrasound. Dr. Navas was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is currently learning French as one day he would like to spend lots of time in France and French Canada. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebeca and their daughters, Valentina and Viviana. They also have two dogs, a Shih Tzu named Dooby and a Schnauzer named Vitto. Dr. Navas loves to play sports and follow his beloved LSU Tigers, but he also loves food and cooking shows! Him and his wife both aspire to be trained chefs at some point in their lives.
Marsha Anderson, DVM
Dr. Anderson was born and raised in South Georgia. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia. Immediately after graduating with a BSA degree, she had possibly the most interesting job of her life for a year at Yerkes Primate Research Center Field Station in Lawrenceville, GA where she worked with several species of monkeys and great apes. She then had the sense to move to Texas, obtain her Texas residency and attend Texas A & M University where she received her DVM degree in 1987. Shortly before graduating she did an externship at the Dallas Zoo for a few months working with zebras, tigers, okapis, etc. Dr. Anderson originally began practicing small and exotic animal medicine in Arlington, TX then moved to Houston in 1990. She came to Houston to practice at Spring Branch Veterinary Clinic which at that time was a large 9 doctor, 7 days a week practice and she gained a great deal of experience during her time there. Since then she has worked at some 2 and 3 doctor practices in Houston and has had a house call practice that was originally based in the Big Bend region of Texas. She came to work at Pet Medical Center of Katy just over 10 years ago as a contract veterinarian. Having known and worked with Dr. Cruz for several years previously at another clinic, she appreciated Dr. Cruz’s commitment to practicing good, ethical, up to date quality medicine and that working at Pet Medical Center of Katy would be a good match.
Outside of work, Dr. Anderson enjoys many activities and hobbies including hiking, white water rafting, gardening, reading, movies, cooking and crafting. She is presently owned by a “few” cats and a ring-necked parakeet. She recently lost the love of her pet life, an African Grey Parrot named Richelieu, who had been her companion for 36 years (yes, 36 years!).
