Katy Pet Boarding

A Trusted Home Away from Home for Your Pet

Pet Medical Center of Katy offers boarding services for our patients! In order to board with us, your pet must be a current patient, he or she must have been examined by our veterinarian within the past 12 months, and must be current on both the Bordetella and flu vaccinations. This ensures that we are familiar with the medical history of each and every pet staying in our hospital. If your pet is not a current patient, you can make arrangements for a pre-boarding physical examination with our veterinarian.

Call (281) 823-8288 or contact us online to learn about our pet boarding service in Katy, or to reserve your pet’s space.

Boarding Requirements

Vaccinations must be current, and when we make your boarding reservation, we will inform you of any vaccinations that will need to be updated prior to your pet’s arrival. In effort to keep our hospital grounds free of intestinal parasites, all boarders are required to have a negative fecal analysis within six months of their boarding stay. If a fecal analysis is not current, one will be performed during your pets stay. De-worming is required with any positive results.

In an effort to keep the hospital flea free, all pets receive an oral flea treatment (Capstar) upon arriving for their stay. The charge for this treatment is $8.00.

Boarding Rates

Nightly boarding rates are as follows:

Canines:

  • < 20 lbs: $32.00
  • 21- 50 lbs: $34.50
  • 50 lbs: $36.50
  • Puppies less than 20 weeks: $41.00

Felines:

  • All: $32.00

During Your Pet’s Stay

Pets are fed twice daily, or as per your preference. We provide a high quality house food (both wet and dry) for your pets, as well as bowls; fresh, comfortable bedding; and daily litter changes for our feline guests. Our canine patients are walked several times a day, with twice daily walks on days that our clinic is not in operation. You are welcome to bring any special diets or creature comforts that you feel may make your pet’s stay more like home. Please indicate any medical needs or specific treatments that your pet will need to receive and provide enough medication for their entire stay.

Catering to Our Elderly, High Energy, or Nervous Boarders

Some pets will need extra walks, may require additional bedding changes during the day, or more frequent staff interaction, including brushing, petting, comforting, hand feeding, or social time during meals.

  • Boarders requiring additional nursing care are an additional $12 for each day
  • Diabetic patients requiring specific needs and attention are an additional $12 per day

Our veterinarian is available to the kennel staff at all times for any questions or concerns regarding the boarding pets. Should a medical emergency arise, please provide a phone number where we can reach you.

Picking Up Your Pets

Pets must be picked up during business hours or at one of the designated after-hours pick-up times. Those times are as follows:

  • Saturday 5 PM
  • Sunday 7 AM
  • Sunday 5 PM

Payment must be made at check in for after-hours pickup.

We offer a bath the morning of check-out (during business hours) for an additional fee. Prices for baths are based on the size and coat of your pet, and are the same as the regular bath fees. Baths include shampoo, toe nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. We do not provide grooming services at Pet Medical Center of Katy. Please plan for a late morning or afternoon discharge for those pets receiving a bath.
